Weekend Visit

For a fun weekend trip, Rachel's mom flew in late Thursday afternoon (4/23).

Rachel and her mom decided they would go shopping Friday morning while Jay was at work (He's not much of a shopper!). The sun was shining (a rare occurrence in Seattle), and they wished they had brought the camera!
They spent the day in Issaquah at the shops and headed to Boehm's chocolates to get some goodies.

Of course, they did stop in at Jay's work to bring him some lunch. =) Since it was a Friday night, everyone decided to stay up late, pop some popcorn, and watch Marley and Me.

Saturday, Jay drove himself, Rachel, and her mom down to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.

Some interesting animals were seen from peacocks and gorillas to snakes (ok eww) and elephants. They cleared the entire zoo and every exhibit (minus the bug/spiders house) in 4 hours, phew.

Early Sunday morning, it was unfortunately time to go home, and Rachel's mom was taken to the airport at 7:30 am. Overall, the trip was a lot of fun and way too short! =)

First picture

Here is our first picture together EVER!
This was taken at Lindbergh field airport in San Diego, CA in August of 2004. How fast time flies... this was the first time Jay and I had ever met in person (Jay and I met on the internet!).

Welcome!

Hello and Welcome!

Jay and I decided to keep a blog to keep all family and friends in touch. Here's a little bit about ourselves first:

Jay works at the Boeing company as a 2nd level remote access help desk analyst. For the less computer literate, this means he helps Boeing employees connect to the Boeing network from a virtual location.

Rachel is a student who recently finished her Associate in Arts & Sciences degree and is hoping to finish a certificate in the next couple years to work as a speech language pathology assistant in the school districts.

Together, we enjoy spending time playing video games on the computer, watching movies/tv, and visiting with friends and family.

In his free time, Jay also enjoys editing LUA/XML programming (software coded for online video games) and the dreamweaver design program.

Rachel enjoys baking, photography, aerobics videos, and singing for fun (okay so maybe the aerobics videos aren't *fun* necessarily!).

We are glad you all could join us for our journey and look forward to blogging some pictures/stories/news from our past, present, and future!
